Jerry Green Hadley was born in Hartland, VT September 1, 1815, the son of Wells and Betsey (Green) Hadley. He married Hannah Allen Gallup November 1, 1842. They had 9 children. He died May 13, 1864 in Reading, VT of lung fever.
From the October 17, 1908 edition of the Hartland News: "The remains of the late Green Hadley (sic) were removed from the Gallup cemetery to the family lot recently purchased in the village cemetery by his son, Fred Hadley."
