Cyrus Bagley was a veteran of the Civil War being both a member of Co. B. of the 12th Regiment and later a member of Co. E. of the 1st Vermont Cav. when it was attached to the 3rd Division commanded by Gen. George Custer. Cyrus was wounded in the last battle of the war on 8 April 1865 at Appomattox VA.
Four of Cyrus and Jennie Bagley's children, Lula, Charles, William, and Frank, died of diphtheria in 1981. The youngest, just a year old, survived.
