I know not His island
I know not His island
Their fronded palms in air
I only know I cannot drift
Beyond His love and care.
This stone is located in the Hartland Village Cemetery.
The 1984 survey indicates that part of the epitaph's second line was not legible. The verse is from John Greenleaf Whittier's poem, “The Eternal Goodness”, which was published in 1867, so the stone must have been carved at least five years after her death. The epitaph shown includes the missing words.
